Wind back to CJC Summer Sports 2015, basically one whole year ago and you may have seen Mitch Cowley’s black, slammed and BN Sports kitted S13 Silvia. Meeting at a popular meet up spot in South Auckland, NZ; it was the first time I had met Mitch in person, but it wasn’t hard to tell that he enjoyed modified cars and had a passion for his S13 Silvia.
Mitch previously to owning the Silvia was looking for a project car, and stumbled across a 100% stock, automatic Silvia, that belonged to an elderly lady who had passed away, leasing the Silvia into a new life Mitch took no time in sourcing all the parts he needed to get the look he wanted. BN sports kit, Work CR Kai wheels, BC Gold Coilovers etc.
Now fast forward a year, with a few ups and downs and some motivation, he decided a new look and some upgrades were required for the new vision he had for the S13 and a deadline of the 20th Anniversary 4 and Rotary Nationals 2016. No wasting time a new bodykit was sourced, all new paint inside and out, wheels, motor swap + more were hunted down and time spend putting the puzzle together. After talking to Mitch a few times and watching him tease us on his instagram, I couldn’t help but want to see the Silvia once it was done and with a big thanks to Mitch for letting me check it out early in person, I bring to you….
With a full Version 1.0 Rocket Bunny kit, custom decals and white paint, Mitch really has changed the style of the S13 complete opposite but in the right direction!
Fenix Intercooler and Radiator take care of the cooling needs. The motor is an S15 SR20DE+T setup running 275 degree Tomei cams, Kinugawa TD06 Turbo and a Link G4 Ecu backing it all up.
Suspension has been taken care of courtesy of BC Gold Coilovers and Hardline Adjustable arms.
D-Max Taillights and corner lights to compliment the clean styling.
Sporting widened BBS RS wheels sitting at 16×9.5 with 215/45’s upfront and 16×10.5 with 225/50 behind.
With the interior featuring a Grip Royal steering wheel, Bride Zeta II seats, Takata 4pt Harnesses, Greddy boost, oil temp and pressure and water temp gauges, PSM gearknob and half cage. The interior was also sprayed in a 2k black with glitter sparkles, as was the PSM knob to match.
If you made it to the 4 and Rotary Nationals this past Auckland Anniversary weekend, the S13 was on show supporting some friends and hopefully you took your time to see all the detail in this well put-together car!
Finishing up with a shot of Mitch driving away to take it all in!
Mitch would like to thank Andre at Amplified Customs, Ben Eckstien for the fabrication work, Geoff Piercy from NZ Wiring, Fritz Leaning for panel and paint, Caleb, Chenelle and Josh for helping store the S13, Jesse Streeter @ Streeter Corp for parts and everyone else who has helped out in one way or another!
