The WRC was in town and I was there to cover the action at Hampton Downs located south of Auckland.

The WRC cars made 2 quick SSS runs at Hampton Downs. Each race was a 2 car sprint starting 5 seconds apart. With the WRC cars only taking 20 mins before they were off to their next stage there was plenty of action from other cars throughout the day to keep everyone entertained.

More than just 2 cars drfiting would have been nice. Biggest gear grinder of the day however was the track only having 2 food stands open which only took cash with no money machines in sight !

The lines were so long it was faster to take your car and drive up to Meremere and drive back. Hopfully this doesnt happen during the next event they host.
